Howard Brownstein Elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of National Philanthropic Trust

UBS Wealth Management and the National Philanthropic Trust Launch the First UBS Donor Advised Fund
UBS announced today the launch of its first donor advised fund program, the UBS Donor Advised Fund.  UBS is offering the program in partnership with National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), a national public charity.  The donor advised fund program enables UBS Wealth Management clients to recommend future philanthropic grants to charitable organizations while benefiting from an immediate income tax deduction on irrevocable contributions of cash, appreciated securities or other assets to the donor advised fund itself.

NPT Ranked Among the Top 100 Charities in the United States
National Philanthropic Trust this year ranks # 100 on the annual  Philanthropy 400 list published by The Chronicle of Philanthropy.  NPT raised $163.7 million charitable dollars in its 2006 fiscal year, achieving an increase of 12.4% over the previous year.  Each year The Chronicle of Philanthropy surveys the nation’s charities to determine which have raised the most in donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Patricia Renzulli Joins NPT as Vice President
National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) recently named Patricia Renzulli Vice President and Manager of the NPT Breast Cancer 3-Day, LLC., a series of 60-mile fundraising walks that last year invested more than $30 million in breast cancer research and education initiatives. As beneficiaries of its charitable proceeds, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and NPT oversee the walks and provide funds for both short- and long-term breast cancer initiatives.

Registration is now open for the 2007 Breast Cancer 3-Day Series, a three day, 60-mile walk to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer programs. September 11th Childrens Fund Closes
On September 11th, 2001, the lives of thousands of children were forever changed.  The physical, mental and emotional scars run deep but these children continue to benefit from the nearly $5 million in grants provided through the September 11th Children’s Fund, though the fund itself is drawing to a close after its commitment to funding over five years.

John Templeton Foundation Selects NPT for Supporting Organization Services
John Templeton Foundation has selected NPT to manage a new Supporting Organization called Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi).  FQXi - a Supporting Organization to NPT -- is an institute and grantmaking vehicle that will receive $8.6 million in grant funds from JTF over the next four years and re-grant those funds to support research in the fields of physics and cosmology.

NPT Breast Cancer Fund Awards Multi-Year Grants
NPT announced grants from its Breast Cancer Fund to the Oncology Nursing Society Foundation (ONSF) and the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCCF).  The NPT Breast Cancer Fund provides long-term support for breast cancer initiatives including research, treatment, prevention and education.  Consistent with those objectives, the grant money will be applied toward programs of education, support and research for those affected and effected by breast cancer.

NPT Launches New Donor Advised Fund for Financial Advisors
The National Philanthropic Trust, in partnership with Concord Equity Group Advisors, has launched a new donor advised fund offered exclusively to independent financial advisors, brokers, estate planners, accountants, trust officers, wealth managers and other professionals.  The new program, the Independent Charitable Gift Fund, is also the first donor advised fund to invest in exchange-traded funds.

NPT Ranked Among Top 100 Charities
The National Philanthropic Trust has been ranked by the Chronicle of Philanthropy in the top 100 of the Philanthropy 400 list for the third year in a row.   The Philanthropy 400 is a listing of the nation's largest nonprofit groups based on the amount of money raised from private sources over a 12-month period. Based on data collected from each charity’s 990 IRS filings, NPT was recognized this year as number 89, having raised $151 million dollars.
